The knee joint is the largest and most complex joint
in the body. At this joint, the femur (bone of the upper
leg) interacts with the tibia (bone of the lower leg)
and the patella (knee cap) is placed in front.
The bones are held together by ligaments, tendons and
muscles.
The knee plays a crucial role in all lower-limb activities,
during which great physical and functional demands are
placed on it. |
